Friends of Crystal Lake

Members of the Friends of Crystal Lake attended the Aldermen Sub-Committee on Programs and Services for a discussion of a docket item titled "requesting discussion of how swimming at Crystal Lake might be lawfully and safely extended beyond mid-August." The principle topics were how to extend the swimming season and if swim at your own risk was an option.

Extending the swim season was favorably received by the committee and Friends of Crystal Lake in attendance.  However, difficulties with securing appropriately trained life guards and City budget constraints were highlighted.  Swim-at-your-own-risk was not favorably received by Parks and Recreation or by the Friends of Crystal Lake in attendance.
